Questions & Answers
Question : Does an air compressor adapter work on most air compressors?
I have a Campbell Hausfeld air compressor that can be used for airbrushing. If I go to home depot would that have an air compressor adapter for it. I looked on there website and they had one but i'm not sure what size to get. Are they all the same size?PLZ HELP ME!!!NOTE TO THE PEOPLE:No unspecific questions. Be freakin specific.
Answer:
I assume you are talking about the quick-disconnect fitting on the end of the hose. No, they are not all the same. This is the most popular fitting, called an "industrial" fitting:http://fp.vendaria.com/vpop/VpopViewer.html?uid=100389502&iid=AddpfzvImumvmKvJJIIKfwKILumLKv &bg=FFFFFF&nm=BZOpener&err=0&title=&pf=t&fr=tThis is an "automotive" fitting:http://fp.vendaria.com/vpop/VpopViewer.html?uid=100081917&iid=AddpfzvImumvmKvJJIIKfwKILumLKv &bg=FFFFFF&nm=BZOpener&err=0&title=&pf=t&fr=tI've shown photos of the male fittings. The corresponding female fittings are likewise different. The odds are that your Campbell Hausfeld air compressor has the industrial fitting.

Question : How long can an air compressor run a drill?
I was just wondering if they make an air compressor that is efficient enough to run a pneumatic drill constantly without stopping the drill. Or is the amount of air used by the drill and bleed air more than an air compressor can output? If not, which air compressor is the best?
Answer:
depends on the requirements of the drill motor and the capacity of the air compressor.

Question : What is a good safe level to set my air compressor when dusting computers?
I got tired of spending $10+ a month on canned air, so I bought an Air Compressor and the nozzle attachment with a trigger. I was told not to allow the compressor to shoot out too much air because it may damage the computer parts. What is a safe level to set the compressor (PSIs)?
Answer:
This is too good a question to pass up, so here goes,You either have a thousand computers to clean or you are in a terrible location (dust wise). So I figgered, heck, you can always use the compressor to use a pneumatic jackhammer when the dust gets so packed that ya gotta use it to loosen the petrified dust.Talk about over stocking mechanical supplies for something simpler. That's like getting a bulldozer to dig a small hole in the sand.;-)

Question : What kind of air compressor is good for me?
I have been working on cars for a while with basic tools, no power tools really. Now I want to start doing body work and just have air tools to make it all easier. So I would like to have an overall air compressor that can handle everything. I don't know quite much on the subject, but I am currently reading up on it. So I'm just curious, what should I look for? What should the CFM be to handle all the tools I want? How big of a tank should I get?
Answer:
At least a 20 gallon tank, 30 would be better. Total up the CFM requirements of the tools you're looking to buy, then get a compressor that will handle those requirements. What you're asking is too broad to answer with any certainty.

Question : Is an air compressor a necessity in the car?
Ours, which is only two years old, is busted. I would like our air conditioner to work again, but it's not a necessity right now. Does the air compressor do anything else? We can't really afford to get it replaced right now.
Answer:
It depends what has failed. If the bearing is bad you'll have to replace it, since that pulley turns all the time, whether the air is on or not.zxc

Question : How do i use an air compressor?
im trying to fill up a blow up boat and i know you can use an air compressor to fill it up but i cant remember how?
Answer:
If your air compressor has a service hose, that is the line that you hook your air tools onto, you need an attachment which will be able to inject the air into the boat. Either a tyre pump attachment or if you have one a pistol grip type air blower.Once you are set up with the correct bits the boat will have an air fill valve with either a screw cap over it or a plug.Simply turn your air compressor on to charge the cylinder and stick the filling jobbie into the fill valve and pull the trigger. The boats take a lot of air so your air compressor will kick in and probably keep running untill the boat is inflated. Stop filling every 5 minutes or so and let the compressor fill with air and shut down as the little compressor motors get fairly hot.Happy boating.

Question : What kind of air compressor should I be looking for?
I need to buy an air compressor for filling tires. I want something strong enough to deliver air quickly, like a shop air compressor, but not so large that it's unwieldy and high maintenance. What should i look for? Is it true some compressors can shoot out oil or moisture through the hose, and into the tire? The gas station that I go to can inflate tires about 1 psi a second on a 235/65 16 tire. I'd like to have something near this performance.
Answer:
you could go to home depot and get a little five gallon tank air comp that would probably do pretty good...good luck
