Question : I have a husky air compressor that will only build pressure to 60 psi but the motor keeps running?
My husky air compressor is probably 5 years old. When I turn it on it will only pressurize up to 60 psi but the motor keeps running until I shut it off manually. HELP!!!
Answer:
It sounds like the intake valves are bad. They are little spring loaded disc type check valves that are usually located in the top of the compressor head or the intake manifold. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. You can usually buy a kit that includes the discs, guides, springs and head gaskets if needed.

Question : How much/big of air compressor i need?
im planning on buying a air compressor. my main usage of the compressor will be for nail gun and impact wrench. whats a good/decent size compressor that can handle both?
Answer:
Just about any compressor can run a nail gun unless it's extremely large and you're running it continuously all day.For the impact wrench, pick out the one you want and look at the SCFM requirement (they should list this). Then get a compressor that is at least that on it's rating. HP numbers are highly inflated, as they plan word games with "peak HP". About the most you can get from a 120V circuit is 1.5 - 1.75 HP, but that doesn't stop the retailers from big HP numbers. SCFM should be more reliable.

Question : Can a 2000 watt generator run an air compressor?
I have a friend with a 2000 watt, 120 volt 16.7 amp generator. Can that run a 26 gallon 1.6 horsepower air compressor? The air compressor would need to constantly be running for about an hour.
Answer:
Check the nameplate on the compressor motor. I suspect with startup current factored in you may be approaching the capacity of the generator. If it is an inverter type generator it may not have the surge capacity to get the motor turning. A standard alternator output may accept the overload and manage to get things going. You may be able to reduce surge current by emptying the tank. Starting the motor with no pressure in the tank may allow you to make it work.

Question : What size air line to run for my air compressor?
I recently bought an air compressor to airate my sprinkler system. I have 1 acre of land. Do I use an air fitting with an 1/4 or 1/2 inlet. Also what size air line do I use. I might use it for my air impact tools. I was told not to use 1/2 inlet with my impact guns.
Answer:
Most air tools have a 1/4" inlet. This, along with 3/8" hose is sufficient for most applications including blowing out waterlines. Size of the tank will decide how much air you can put out over a certain period of time.

Question : How to inflate a car tire without air tank or air compressor?
Normally if i was at my house this would be an easy fix, but since i am not i dont have any means of getting my air compressor or air tank. They are 4 hours away. I was wondering if anyone had any GOOD ideas on how to inflate my car tire without obtaining a 55 dollar towing fee to a tire shop.Sorry for not mentioning this, but the lugs on this thing are like glued on there ... i need to get it to a shop just to get the tire off. I hate over tightened lugs!
Answer:
Fix-A-Flat. If it's off the bead, use starting fluid and a match to seat the bead.

Question : What kind of air compressor should I buy for spraying automobiles?
What kind of air compressor should I buy for spraying automobiles? Let me know the hp and how many gallons the compressor should have for use in a place like a body shop. Thanks.
Answer:
you need at least a 5.5 hp compressor. I've painted a car with a pancake compressor. I know you've seen the compressors that stand upright, like they're on a dollie. One of these will be fine, don't go buy some 10hp big ass compressor. Use your money to buy a quility paint gun. Look up bink online. They are reasonable.

Question : What kind of air compressor should I be looking for?
I need to buy an air compressor for filling tires. I want something strong enough to deliver air quickly, like a shop air compressor, but not so large that it's unwieldy and high maintenance. What should i look for? Is it true some compressors can shoot out oil or moisture through the hose, and into the tire? The gas station that I go to can inflate tires about 1 psi a second on a 235/65 16 tire. I'd like to have something near this performance.
Answer:
you could go to home depot and get a little five gallon tank air comp that would probably do pretty good...good luck

Question : Where do I take an air compressor to get repaired?
I have an air compressor that can't build up any pressure. The pump runs, but the pressure stays near zero. I can't figure out where to take it for repairs. I've called a lawn mower shop, a pump repair shop, and an electrical repair shop. None of them work on air compressors. Any ideas?
Answer:
1 look in owners manual..they have service/repair places listed or # to call2 no book? yahoo/google search the neme brand3 phone book4 unless its a 500+ priced compressor its usually not worth repairing..
